Guiding Principles

Graft.Ed is blog and event website from Dr. Roderick Logan. Roderick intends it to be an educational source for the study of the Bible from its historical Hebraic worldview. Graft.Ed is not a church, synagogue, or congregation. The focus of its posts and events is to inform and inspire men and women to repair the earth; to compare the benefits of walking in the Light to the alternatives; and to prepare themselves and the next generation for the coming and dwelling of Messiah, Yeshua. It is Roderick's hope that those who thirst and hunger for knowledge of the Scriptures will be equipped for self-study and that their heart will be inclined towards HaShem; that they continue the journey set before them and to learn how to recover when they fail.

Graft.Ed is fundamentally about discovery and learning. It seeks unity, not sameness. It encourages a single direction, not a single belief; that direction being the
pursuit of truth. GRAFT.Ed advocates for mutual respect of each one's differences as we all seek truth together. Each person is challenged to appreciate the history of Israel and the Biblical narrative as it unfolds in Scripture. Conclusions and theological positions are left up to the individual. GRAFT.Ed is not interested in changing people's doctrinal beliefs. What a person believes is important, and it is up to each to decide how they should live. A person's beliefs should always be valued and respected. Graft.Ed is a community of learners; men and women in pursuit of truth through God's revelation.

Graft.Ed has no desire to reinvent the wheel or to organize a new religious movement. Roderick believes that those who walk according to God's purposes have a wonderful opportunity to benefit from a study of the Scriptures and from the wisdom of the Sages who have gone before us. In other words, we are not left alone to figure this out this journey.

Below are a set of ancient, foundational principles that serve as Graft.Ed's guardrails.. Students are routinely invited to grapple with these statements as they travel on their educational journey. These principles are not a litmus test for love and fellowship. They are meant to help not hurt; to clarify the path not complicate it; and to grant freedom of discovery instead of restricting access. Questions and respectful challenge are encouraged.

So that you may know Graft.Ed's point-of-view, here are our 13 principles of study.
Principle 1
There exists The Creator, Who is complete in every manner of existence and is the Primary Cause and Source of all that exists.
Principle 2
The Creator is God; He is absolute and unparalleled unity.
Principle 3
God is non-corporeal. He is not affected by any physical occurrences; including movement, rest, or dwelling.
Principle 4
God is eternal.
Principle 5
It is absolutely imperative to worship God exclusively. No foreign, false, or other gods acknowledged.
Principle 6
God communicates with men and women through prophecy.
Principle 7
The prophecy of Moses is the written Torah. It is God's primary communication to men and women, and as such it serves to guide all pursuits of truth and commentary.
Principle 8
Torah is of divine origin.
Principle 9
Torah is immutable.
Principle 10
God knows all there is to know and His providence is supreme.
Principle 11
There is divine reward and retribution in the world to come.
Principle 12
Messiah dwelt on earth, in Israel during the early part of the 1st century CE. He lived as a Jew, was Himself taught as a Jew, and He taught disciples as a Jewish Rabbi,

His name is Yeshua (salvation). He was crucified outside the walls of Jerusalem, buried in a tomb, and in three days was alive again. His resurrection was witnessed by many men and women. It is Yeshua's sacrifice before the foundations of the earth - not His death in Jerusalem - that is the source of redemption and in which we put our trust. This, however, does not negate or devalue the purpose for which Yeshua came and died on a cross. Yeshua's death and subsequent resurrection demonstrates to the world, then and today, that neither Rome or any earthly kingdom since holds the power of life and death. God - and God alone - is Sovereign. In Him we put our trust.

Yeshua the Messiah is returning on an undisclosed date in the future to usher in the Kingdom of God - the Messianic era.
Principle 13
There will be a resurrection of the dead.
